John Scofield / Dave Holland Duo
Still having in mind the memory of Brad Melhdau’s visit last July, CAN REON is preparing for a new memorable night for jazz lovers, a concert led by guitarist John Scofield and double bassist Dave Holland that will undoubtedly remain in our memories for a long time.
John Scofield and Dave Holland are two of the architects of contemporary jazz, two musicians with a long career who have shared different projects and musical experiences, such as been part, at different times, of Miles Davis’ band.
This concert will be a unique opportunity to enjoy a duo full of complicity, the reunion of two of the most important musicians in the recent history of jazz, who will take the stage to perform a selection of standards and original compositions of both. A concert that will unite two totems of jazz and that will undoubtedly remain forever in the memory of all those music lovers.
JOHN SCOFIELD
John Scofield, with a long career that began in the 70s, has become one of the most influential musicians of contemporary jazz. This American guitarist and composer stands out for a unique sound that distinguishes him, for his stylistic diversity and for being a master of improvisation who develops his music generally somewhere between post-bop, jazz with funk touches and R&B. Scofield has led his own groups, with which he has recorded more than 30 albums, many of them classics, which have made him one of the leading figures on the international jazz scene. John Scofield has worked and collaborated with Miles Davis, Charles Mingus, Gerry Mulligan, Chet Baker, Charlie Haden, Joe Lovano, Medeski, Martin & Wood, Bill Frisell and Brad Mehldau, among others.
