Maurice Scheltens & Bertjan Pot (Netherlands)
If it is windy Maurice Scheltens and Bertjan Pot will fly their amazing kites on the festival. For them, the best thing about making kites is the materialization of an idea:: “Just like any work of art, we want to hang on the highest nail and show to everybody. For a kite this is not in the ‘white cube’, but in the ‘blue sky”.
Cristina Lucas (Spain)
In her video ‘Cobalt’, Cristina Lucas explores the connection between cobalt in art, the body and the energy transition. In art history Cobalt blue is a cherished and meaningful colour. Cobalt is also an essential element for the human body and indispensable in the current trajectory of the energy transition.
Jan Robert Leegte (Netherlands)
Watching the vídeo installation of Jan Robert Leegte we are overwhelmed by the force of a simulated landscape. The storm can be heard sweeping through the trees as well as the roar of the ocean. Various screens and projections offer fragmented views of a natural scene.
Margriet van Breevoort (Netherlands)
Margriet van Breevoort traverses a delicate line between the extraordinary and the unimaginable. The boundaries that once separated animals, human-made objects, and humans themselves are becoming increasingly blurred. Human skin becomes an object, animals become human.
Jacco Olivier (Netherlands)
Jacco Olivier fuses painting and filmmaking by repeatedly reworking paintings in casual brush strokes and systematically photographing each development. The various stages are combined into projected animations which are imagined as windows onto converging, and often elegantly simple, moments of daily life.
Special events - Extra festival program (€)
Nina Backman & Sami Tallberg (Finland)
Imagine a meal in silenci in the middle of nature. Artist Nina Backman presents her participatory performance Silence Meal on the festival. She invites guests at her table for a four course lunch in silence, surrounded by nature. The lunch will be prepared by award-winning chef Sami Tallberg, who is specialized in locally foraged wild food.
