Much has already been said about singer-songwriter Maika Makovski, and much more will be said. Born to a Macedonian father and an Andalusian mother and settled in Mallorca, she is an artist a true multidisciplinary artist, her musical talent, myriad influences, and the urgency of her constant spiritual search make her a truly unique name on today’s scene.
Since starting her career at just 20 years old, she has continued to surprise with every album she releases—and she already has eight to her name. Her latest, “MKMK”, was released in 2021 and was a resounding success with both audiences and critics, making its way onto almost every “Best of the Year” list (winner of the MIN and + Música awards for “Best Rock Album”).
As the 20th anniversary of her recording debut approaches, Maika has announced her next release, titled “Bunker Rococo”. This album is a work in which different influences of pop, rock or folk can be recognized, while at the same time it is full of contrasts where classical and contemporary instruments are mixed, raw songs with epic arrangements.
All this defines the style of Maika Makovski, an artist who only responds to her own instinct.
